DESCRIPTION
The Parnell is a Danish-designed solid oak dining table in a smoked oak finish, with a starburst top. This listing is the 2.0m table with a bench and four Pisa chairs.
Solid oak, not veneer — the timber runs right through, so the table can be sanded back and refinished years from now rather than replaced. The smoked finish darkens the oak while leaving the grain visible, giving it the warmth of natural wood with a more contemporary tone.
The starburst top is laid as segments radiating from the centre, a pattern that takes considerably more work than a plain top and is the reason this table looks as good as it does. The Danish design keeps the lines simple so the timber and the pattern do the work. The Parnell comes in 2.0m and 2.2m lengths; this listing is the 2.0m.
A bench down one side seats more people in the same floor space than chairs do, and tucks under the table when it is not in use.
