How It All Started
It all started with a small shed and a passion for helping people furnish their homes with quality furniture at honest prices. What began as a modest operation has grown through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to putting customers first.
From those early days, we've stayed true to the same values—offering carefully selected furniture, friendly service, and a shopping experience you can trust.
Our Journey
Every year has brought something new — a new store, a new range, a new way to serve Northern Ireland's homes better.
Jason and Gary Traynor began selling furniture from a small storage shed in Armagh. No showroom, no shop front — just two brothers, a van, and a conviction that people in Northern Ireland deserved better furniture at fairer prices. Every customer who came back proved them right.
One year in, demand had outgrown the shed. Traynor Furnishings opened its first proper showroom — a real space where customers could walk in, sit down, and see the quality for themselves. The range grew. So did the reputation.
Customers were travelling from across Tyrone and mid-Ulster to visit the Armagh showroom. The answer was simple — bring Traynor to them. The Dungannon store at Union Place gave a whole new part of Northern Ireland access to the full range, in person.
Traynorfurnishings.co.uk went live. "Online is so important now — it's the way everything is going." With showrooms in Armagh and Dungannon already serving Northern Ireland, Jason and Gary knew the next step was making the full range available to anyone, anywhere. The online shop opened up free
delivery across Northern Ireland and brought Traynor to homes that didn't have a showroom nearby.
Jason and Gary boarded a flight to China. Not to browse a trade show — to meet the manufacturers directly, see the factories, and start building relationships that cut out every middleman in between. Today Traynor sources directly from Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Italy and Poland — bringing furniture to Northern Ireland that no other retailer here can offer, at prices that reflect what things actually cost to make.
The superstore opened just outside the Armagh — a space big enough to display the full Traynor range properly, with room settings, live fabric samples and the entire collection under one roof. It's the kind of furniture experience Northern Ireland hadn't seen before.
Traynor Furnishings began delivering to every county in the Republic of Ireland. What started in a shed in Armagh now reaches homes from Donegal to Cork. Same quality. Same service. Same family behind it all.
What We Stand For
Meet Jason & Gary.
Traynor Furnishings is, at its core, the story of two brothers with a shared vision and the drive to make it happen.
Jason and Gary Traynor both grew up in Armagh and share the same belief: that people in Northern Ireland deserve great furniture at genuinely fair prices, from people who actually care. That belief is baked into everything they do — from how they source products to how they train their team to how they respond to every customer who gets in touch.
Co Founder & Director
Jason is the driving force behind Traynor's product sourcing and buying strategy. He personally selects every exclusive container collection and has an eye for furniture that balances beautiful design with everyday practicality. If something's on the floor, Jason's backed it with his own judgement.

Co Founder & Director
Gary leads the operations side of the business — making sure deliveries happen when they should, the showrooms look the part, and every customer interaction meets the standard he and Jason set from day one. His attention to detail is why Traynor's reputation has held as the business has grown.
